Running Costs have been further reduced by improving the fuel injection system and supercharger, making the vehicle suitable for low emission zones like London's LEZ. These enhanced systems improve economy as well as emissions, making the Canter fully Euro 5 and EEV compliant, whilst being strong enough for the steepest hills whilst carrying heavy loads.

Improved Economy and Emissions
The range of engines in the Canter are designed to impress with their performance - with up to an even torque curve of up to 430Nm, whilst maintaining fuel consumption. These engines have a great torque delivery, ensuring that you can change gear less often and pull away with fewer revs. Put together with it's high payload, economy is further enhanced by having to make fewer trips to site. Economy goes beyond fuel consumption too as can be seen by some of Canters other design features:
- 130, 145 and (175 - Including BlueTec emission technology) PS engine options
- A third less particulate matter and 70% less smoke opacity than Euro 5
- EGR - Exhaust gas recirculation together with a self gereating DPF on all models.
- Low service and maintenance costs thanks to innovative design features that make service components easily accessible to workshop technicians
- Canters are fitted with an exhaust brake, that slows the vehicle by restricting the engines emissions, significantly improving the life of brake discs and pads
